Nantucket

Finally we get on board our cruise ship and motor to Nantucket. Nantucket was the primary whaling seaport during the height of American whaling. Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" describes whaling perfectly. The whalers were America's world explorers by virtue of sailing to find whales in the Pacific and Arctic seas after harvesting the local whales. Now Nantucket is history rich and beautiful with old buildings and extraordinary flowers, boats and a fine whaling museum.
